Question 4- Who would be the audience from our finished Piece

Historically, Teen and youth drama audiences were typically young people and anyone who was into that type of movie genre, such as avid movie goers.

Our wider audience however mainly just young people. As this was a student film we collectively decided to aim it at young people such as ourselves. This also allowed us to enforce social stereotypes as we felt it would simplify the overall view of  groups of people.

when we started off on this blog we investigated the typical target audience of a youth drama such as the one we were about to make and we found...

This was extremely helpful to find early on as it guided us on how we should construct the overall ambience of our film.

It was at that point we decided to create a Twitter as well as a Facebook page to attract this type of audience to see if anybody was interested.

This was very successful as it allowed us to experience very low level marketing of of a low budget film.

Question 3

My group would have chose to use gateway productions to promote and distribute our film. we have done some research into independent production companies and major production companies, and we feel that it would be more beneficial for our film to be produced by a small independent company such as gateway. Gateway Productions is a British independent film production company, that are behind the creation of a number successful British teen drama's including as 'shank And Anuvahood' both of which everyone in my group has watched. Through watching the title sequence of Anuvahood we were led to Gateway productions and went on to do some research about the company. After reading up about Gateway, my group then came to the conclusion that this would be the perfect company to produce our film. The Reason for this is that Gateway unlike Many major companies work with newly established / Un-established British talent to create these extremely successful films.

Due to the fact Our group had no budget for the creation of our film, it would be unrealistic for us to try to persuade a major production company to work with us for no money. The Gateway Website states "  to make good quality films alongside some of the World’s biggest film studio’s on sensible budgets with new and established talent." this has us led to believing that small independent companies are more suitable for this project.

Research on major production companies consolidated our decision to use a small independent company. information taken from page 140 of the Ocr Media Studies Guide, states in the uk there are five major production companies that dominate the Uk film industry, Including Sony and century Fox, It also States that these companies work directly with Hollywood production companies and in some cases Hollywood is preferred over British talent for profitable reasons. we came to an agreement that this was not suitable for our project.
