My group would have chose to use gateway productions to promote and distribute our film. we have done some research into independent production companies and major production companies, and we feel that it would be more beneficial for our film to be produced by a small independent company such as gateway. Gateway Productions is a British independent film production company, that are behind the creation of a number successful British teen drama's including as 'shank And Anuvahood' both of which everyone in my group has watched. Through watching the title sequence of Anuvahood we were led to Gateway productions and went on to do some research about the company. After reading up about Gateway, my group then came to the conclusion that this would be the perfect company to produce our film. The Reason for this is that Gateway unlike Many major companies work with newly established / Un-established British talent to create these extremely successful films.
Due to the fact Our group had no budget for the creation of our film, it would be unrealistic for us to try to persuade a major production company to work with us for no money. The Gateway Website states " to make good quality films alongside some of the World’s biggest film studio’s on sensible budgets with new and established talent." this has us led to believing that small independent companies are more suitable for this project.
Research on major production companies consolidated our decision to use a small independent company. information taken from page 140 of the Ocr Media Studies Guide, states in the uk there are five major production companies that dominate the Uk film industry, Including Sony and century Fox, It also States that these companies work directly with Hollywood production companies and in some cases Hollywood is preferred over British talent for profitable reasons. we came to an agreement that this was not suitable for our project.

Photobucket:
I used photo bucket to post up all our pictures and videos to promote our film to our potential viewers. It was quick and easy to use and required little to no effort. Really effevtive and handy when out and about!

Risk assessment
RISK ASSESSMENT:
Whilst filming in Coppetts Wood we had to be aware of all risks before shooting.
There were lots of thorns and nettles that could of injured us so e had to take extra care whilst walking and make sure we didn't trip over the shrubs.
The mud was swamp-like in some areas and that was problem due to slipping and getting stuck. We had to go around the swampy areas to avoid getting dirty and damaging the cameras.
The weather was risky as it was very cold and the protagonist had to lie on the muddy ground some time. We had to make sure she was warm and that we took essential breaks between shots. Also it began to rain at one point so covering the equipment was key!
Height risk of filming high up in case of dropping the camera, we had to insure that the camera was stable at all times.
As it got dark we had to be more wary of the equipment and our surroudings.
Personal Feedback (Kieron Bartley)
I have watched the edited version of my groups film and i am very happy with the progress Matthew and Heather have made with the editing. The music floes nicely with the opening sequence and creates an emotive feel. The letter placed on the bed really adds a connection with the main character. The reversed death scene worked really well. Really proud of the result.
Editing
Soundtrack
whilst Heather and Matthew started the editing process of our film, I went down to the music studio to begin creating the sound track to our teen title. Using logic pro 9 I created a short track that we intended to use within our film. Matthew suggested that I use the soundtrack to the trailer for Dead Island as a template for the creation of our track. It was quite difficult and the chord progressions were hard to learn but i fought through it to create a short sequence. After feedback from peers we decided to use the actually trailer instead of my rendered version as it was more emotive and set the scene and sympathy for the protagonist better than my version.

Character influences
The character I will be playing will be very similar to the character played by noel clarke in the film kidulthood. Charecter Sam Peel is the main antagonist within the stories plot and is played by Noel. I feel the way In which noel plays this chartecter is very effective and enables him to stand out from the rest of the charecters as the main antagonist. The relationship between sam and his partner is almost exactly the same as the one we intend to recreate in our film, so I decided to watch kidulthood again to take some tips from noel that I can implement into my charecter.
I found that throughout the film Noel is extremly agressive towards the other charecters, even more so to females, ive decided to interpret this theme into my charecter and try to appear in control throughout our film.
The protagonist always has the audience on their side, Heather channeled this through her acting and we put the emotive use of a letter to her mum to tug on the audiences heart strings.
By hiding the antagonists faces it adds mystery and stealth to the 'bad guys'.

Sub Genre's
What are the Sub Genre's Of Teen Drama Films ?
The term sub Genre simply defines a smaller category of a larger genre. Teen Drama Films are categorized into a number of sub genre's depending on various aspects of the film. The codes and conventions teen films go by are detrimental to how they are categorized into sub genres. Sterotypes and social groups are among the most common conventions found within teen drama's
The most common sub genre's of teen films are Comedy and Drama. I am very familiar with both these genre's and have watched film such as Kidulthood and White chicks over again, in order to spot the use of stereotypes and conventions and how the director has shown them through different aspects of the film such as the Sound, Editing & Misc En Scene.

This saturday our group met up in order to record our film. To begin the filming Matthew and heather met up on saturday morning to record some shots at Matthew's house. During this time they recorded shots we plan to include in the introduction of our film, These include :
- Heather putting on her jumper
- Heather picking up her phone
- Heather picking up her bag
- Heater approaching the door
- Filling up of a water bottle
- The kettle boiling
- Heather putting on her shoes
We plan to use these shots in the title sequence of our film. we have chosen to place titles over moving images as it allows us to give a brief build up to our story, our intent is to use the shots we have taken and place them in an order the represents someone leaving there house to go and pursue a gang. We have planned to then place the Title of our film over a black background in order to focus the audience's attention to the title of our film.
Around lunch time on the same day I joined the group. we walked a short distance from the termination of the 43 bus , to an alleyway to record the shots for the scene were me and heather are arguing.
we found the perfect spot in the alleyway to record our scene , this was a wall that had a large graffite piece on it , we chose this location as it represents the idea of our film being a youth drama.
During this filming time we recorded a number of shots and fill in shots we are now able to use within our film. our first day of recording was very successful and we did not incur any problems apart from the temperature.
