39. Pitch feedback(Matthew)

FEEDBACK:

Don showed concern in our choice of location but as me and the other members of our group are very keen on our chosen area, i took the time to look up vital information on lighting so that if we had any trouble filming with the dim lights due to the trees in the wood, our chosen location, i will be able to overcome it.

On wednesday me and Heather are going up to Coppetts woods to scope the are and look at open spaces and where the light hits nicely to make filming easier. There is a section involving cylinders that i have in mind for a great shot for the main events so on Wednesday we can check out the area and take some tester shots to see if it all works out around our vision.

31: Costume Overview

The hooded figure with jeans will be the general costume the characters will be wearing as it will support the stereotype of gang culture, youth and how they wear darker colours.

The main protagonist will be wearing something similar but instead of black a more bold green in order to represent independence and a differentiation from the other characters.

In addition, as the larger group of people will all be wearing similar things it will be clear to the audience how they are all one group of people and that the protagonist is not part of that group.

Our group strongly believes that the overall mise en scene being used will replicate those of other youth drama's therefore securing how influential they have been to us as a team.

Weather for designated weekend:

From BBC weather.

Monthly outlook:

Monday 26 January—Sunday 1 February
Breezy and damp giving way to cold and very windy!
The last week of January will get off to a breezy and damp start as weather fronts and some relatively mild Atlantic air clear away into the continent. This process should leave the remainder of Monday as a fairly dry and bright day for most, save for a few wintry showers that will affect the far northwest of Scotland at times. Conditions will be a little chilly overnight into Tuesday with perhaps a slight frost for rural areas, but during Tuesday another fairly weak Atlantic weather system will be ushered in by brisk westerly winds to bring cloudy, milder conditions with some further patchy rain, chiefly for western hills of the UK.
Cloudy, wet and windy weather is likely to be the order of the day on Wednesday with further Atlantic weather fronts moving in from the west.
By late Wednesday though, the UK weather looks as if it will take on a much colder and windier theme, with strong to gale force northwesterly winds bringing cold air across the UK, and the risk of some periods of snowfall, particularly for Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern areas of England, but possible just about anywhere for a time. There will also likely be an increase in overnight frost risk and icy patches as we move through the remainder of the week and into the weekend. February looks like it will get off to a very cold and windy start!

Rain could become and issue with filming over this weekend but with umbrellas and rain coats to keep every piece of equipment and everyone dry it shouldn't be a problem.  Overnight frost and icy patches could become a risk but if we add it to our risk assessment we will be prepared for it. Wind isn't a major issue as we haven't got any props that could fly away and the equipment should be safe.

30: Location activity pack

The location our filming will be based at shall be Coppetts Wood. This is based in Friern barnet directly next to The Compton School.

Although this is a rural location it will be ideal in our film in order to subvert the stereotypes of gang culture creating contrasts.between the factors that support it as well.

Our first location was High Barnet however we soon realised that the location we initially cose to film in had been compromised.

39. Pitch feedback(Heather)

After we pitched our film idea to the class and Don the feedback we were giving was as followed:

We were told that our key props were really good and would work well to portray our protagonist and side characters well.

There was a heated discussion about our chosen location but after Matthew explained that we attempting to subvert the stereotype that youth dramas perceive gang culture the class began to understand why we chose the woods. Don said the wood may be difficult to film in as the canopy of the trees would create a shadowy cast over the woods itself making lighting a very vital piece of out filming experience over the weekend. Since this feedback Matthew has taken the time to deepen his knowledge in lighting and with the lights we have are will accumulate we have confident we have the under control.

On Wednesday the 28th Matthew and Heather are going to test shot the location and figure out the best p;aces to film the main events and our fillers. This will include the best places the film in link to the lighting situation.

We are very confident with out idea and filming as a whole and if we have any problems we have Dan and Don to look to for guidance.
