18: Titles in Motion
Templates:
Go to the motion app, next to final cut and garageband
when you open motions you will get a box window
just click start with a template and click continue
opens a template browser
click any template( you get a preview of it in the top left)
ones with black backgrounds are good for titles, black become transparent on final cut
if you want a black background don't put a clip behind and it will default to black
after clicking a template you have a play head that you can drag to see the full title sequence roll
You need to edit:
Drag play head until you see the text on the screen , click it and change it by typing your text in
most of the time you may have more boxes than you want
go to select mode , select the boxes that you don't need and you can delete them
you can also move the titles you want around the background as well
that is the basics.
Default text can be a bit bland, go to the hud, pops out a window with simple options to adjust the font, size etc( the basics)
thats how you would begin to customise
if you really want to go advance, keep the text selected, go to the inspector tab;
opens up all the in depths options.
go to inspector an txt ( thats what we are concerned with)
all options for size
style
outlines
width
blur
colour
drop shadow can be put behind it
go to format
you can orate the text... etc
set the text toy your genre.
Another thing:
good for putting titles over intro sequence
but also create things to go at the start of the film
open templates again
scroll down to in depth templates
templates have pre set animations (DO NOT USE THE SPLODGES AS THEY ARE OVERUSED)
click text and edit( text mode)
to save:
file
export
name it something
save somewhere safe ( usually video drive)
export
this exports it as a movie
we then bring it into final cut from there.
